• Top emerging housing markets in 2021: in July, the Wall Street Journal and Realtor.com issued the results of a study of the 300 largest metro areas that identifes markets that believed to be good areas in which to purchase a home for homeowners and investors alike. • Best run city in the U.S.: Wallethub.com publishes a list of U.S. cities that have proven operating efficiency, i.e. how well city officials manage and spend public funds by compared with the quality of services residents receive against the city’s total budget. Fort Wayne ranks third on this list, too! This says a lot about the value of living here and possibly supports the first two points about affordability and having an emerging housing market. • All-American City Award: The National Civic League publishes an annual list of selected U.S. cities that “represent the diversity of American communities from the largest cities to the smallest towns, from east to west and north to south.” Fort Wayne earned its spot (again!) among the top 10 cities that celebrates and recognizes neighborhoods and engage residents in innovative, inclusive and effective efforts to create solutions for better living.
